Cydney Smith is the founder of Mompreneur Wellness. Mompreneur Wellness offers coaching programs, nutrition education and retreats. A book on her spirited nutrition approach to wellness will be published in late August. She works with women who are creating a lifestyle for themselves that includes pursuing a flexible career or a creative endeavor, often entrepreneurship, while they are raising a family. Through working together they explore the interplay between food, nutrition, core beliefs and creating success in their life- however they define that. She offers a simple, whole foods perspective to support her clients on their wellness journey. Below she shares her thoughts about life transitions.
Best Life Transition:
Becoming a mother. I don’t believe it was a very graceful transition, but I embraced it!
Most Challenging Life Transition:
I’ve had many transitions in my life, each with its own challenges. The most challenging, being a mother. Not becoming one, but the long, soulful transition that occurs over the early years of parenting.
Best Advice You Received During a Life Transition:
Hang in there. You can do it. It’s part of life… the comments that remind me that I am not the only one who has ever gone through a transition.
Most Important Lesson Learned from a Life Transition:
I heard a poem during my early mothering days, though I can not remember who wrote it, that said something like. “ The days are endless, but the years fly by.” I hold onto that in transition and remember that “this, too, shall pass.”
Best Way to Think about Life Transitions:
Transitions open us up to the moment, to our humanity and give us an opportunity to evolve and follow our own path.
What Makes Life Transitions Easier for You:
Yoga. gratitude. journaling – the usual I guess. And laughing with family and friends.
